1) We helped fund the work of “FODŻ—the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland”, which recently cleaned the “New" Jewish cemetery in Drobin. The 1.2 acre cemetery was founded in the first half of the 18th century. During World War II, Germany devastated the cemetery and used the tombstones as paving material.
2) Thanks to the fund-raising efforts of Jeffrey Miller and FJHP's partnership with Steven Reece and The Matzevah Foundation, volunteers spent a week in June busily cleaning the Nowogród cemetery. Follow the work here.
3) We salute the work of Poland's Nissenbaum Family Foundation, which has installed new gates at the rear entrance to Poland's oldest Jewish cemetery: the "Old" Lublin Jewish cemetery. Partnering with JewishGen and The Matzevah Foundation, our JewishGen Future Scholars Fellowship Program cleared the entrance to this gate last summer!
