Desolation hangs over the largely destroyed cemetery of Czyżew. Friends of Jewish Heritage in Poland is raising money under the leadership of descendant Susan J. Littman to restore the dignity of the Czyżew Jewish cemetery. We’ve set up this initial campaign with a goal of $8,000 to support the work of FODŻ (the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland) in carrying out this restoration and protecting this site.

We also plan to work with the Polish government to install a memorial marker at the site to help designate this official site of Polish National Historical Memory.
