Polish historian Paweł Sygowski is looking to research and publish a definitive book on the history of the Jewish community of Markuszów and its surviving "New" cemetery. This amazing text (including illustrations and photographs) will document the history of the community and show the personal details of those buried beneath the 100 surviving matzevot and fragments in Markuszów.
A lost community will come to life!
To fund this research and publish the book in English and Polish, we’ve set up this campaign with a goal of $10,000. With your help, Friends of Jewish Heritage in Poland (a 501c3 non-profit) can reach this goal and continue the work we’ve set out to do in this campaign. Every dollar raised will be matched in order to allow us to pay the translation and publication costs as well.
